Booterstown Parish is a vibrant parish with many events. Our new Parish Centre opened in 2019 and is used for pastoral, community and business activities. Our parish campus is made up of a range of beautiful buildings which are all over 100 years old. The Parish functions because of the generous support of its parishioners as all our income is raised in the Parish.
Expenditure includes the upkeep, maintenance and day to day running costs of all parish buildings including maintaining the fabric of the church itself. In recent years we have renewed the roof of the Church, installed new heating and fully renovated the Parish Pastoral Centre building, which is now a state-of-the-art facility, providing meeting rooms, an activity space and a beautiful auditorium to support Parish, community and local activities.
Canon law requires all parishes to have a Parish Finance Committee to help the Parish Priest in the administration of the finances of the parish.
This Committee is an advisory committee. Members are appointed by the Parish Priest and usually serve for a period of three years. The Committee meets monthly. Reporting to the committee are the Parish Finance Manager, Parish Secretary and the Parish Centre Manager.

How can you support the Parish and its activities?
Pledges accompanied by way of a Standing Order is are our preferred way method of support.
Many parishioners set up standing orders which are greatly appreciated as this allows us to plan with reasonable certainty about our future income streams. By filling out a Standing Order form and committing to a regular payment – monthly, quarterly, half yearly or annually.
Donations can also be made by cheque, bank transfer and card machine at the back of the Church or by using the donation button here.
Tax effective giving
If you are a taxpayer and you donate more than €250 to the Parish in a calendar year, by completing a CHY 3 form, the Parish can reclaim from Revenue the tax you already paid on your donation. This increases the value of your gift to the Parish by 45%. Your donations may be weekly (as little as €5 every week), monthly or once-off. Completion of the CHY 3 form For all donations over €250.00 in one year (in excess of €21 per month) ,you can increase the amount by 45% just by completing a CHY3 form. This is one of the most painless and effective ways that you can help us. When you send us a pledge form, we will send you back a CHY3 form. Please give priority to completing it and returning it us.
Once signed, the new CHY3 form lasts for 5 years. This means that you only need to fill out the form once every 5 years, which cuts down on administration and saves you time.

Supporting and running events
In the past our income has been supplemented by fund raising activities such as Cake Sales, Art Exhibitions, an Annual Golf Outing and the activities of the Parish. If you have an idea for an event that you would like to run in aid of the parish activities, please get in touch by emailing us to finance@booterstownparish.ie
Xelda – in 2022 we introduced a new way of making donations to both the Parish and the Diocese by way of a QR code. Cards with the information can be found in the church or you can use this link to bring you to the payment page.
Making a bequest in your will :
You can set aside a gift of any size in your Will to the Parish. Your solicitor can advise on drawing up a Will or in making provision for this if you already have one.
We celebrate a mass annually where all the parish benefactors, past and present, are remembered and prayed for.
As a Registered Charity, No. CHY 7424(Registered Charity Number: 20016166), our parish is governed by the Charities Act 2009 and the Charities Regulatory Authority.
Without your support it would not be possible to keep the Church and the Parish Pastoral Centre open. We are extremely grateful for any donation that you can make. If you are able to commit to a regular contribution, our preference is that you complete the Standing Order form.
We really appreciate your support at all times but especially at this challenging time. Thank you, take care, stay safe and God Bless.
