Safeguarding
Keeping safe young people and vulnerable adults taking part in our parish activities is of paramount concern to us. We use the resources of the Dublin Diocese.
All adults involved as volunteers in our parish activities are required to complete an Adult Volunteer Application form and a Code of Conduct form and attend a Safeguarding Information Session every three years.
Volunteers who work directly with young people or vulnerable adults must also be Garda Vetted and attend a one-day safeguarding training session.
Where young people are participating in parish activities their parents will also be required to complete a consent form and the young person will be provided with a code of conduct.
Safeguarding policies are reviewed regularly by the Diocese and new elements are added as required. More information can also be found on the Dublin Diocese safeguarding website – https://csps.dublindiocese.ie
The Parish of the Assumption values and encourages the participation of children, young people and vulnerable adults in all parish activities that enhance their spiritual, physical, emotional and social development. Diocesan policies and procedures are in place to ensure a safe environment for all who engage in parish activities.
Safeguarding information including contact numbers are displayed on a noticeboard in our Parish Porch and in the Parish Pastoral Centre. Contact can also be made via the parish office and through the contact form on our website. Contact can also be made via the Dublin Diocesan Safeguarding Centre
Complaints Procedure for Young People and Parents/Guardians Where a young person, or parent/guardian wishes to make a complaint other than that of suspected child abuse, they should contact a member of the child safeguarding team, through the parish office, Ph: 2831593 or email: info@booterstownparish.ie or via the contact section on this website.
