Parish Pastoral Council Report for Q 1 2026

The Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) is a consultative group that advises the parish priest on pastoral initiatives building community in the parish and promoting Gospel values. It does not deal with parish administration or finances.

The current members of the Council are Donal de Buitleir (chair), Fiona Henry, Eamonn Molloy, Monsignor Ciaran O’Carroll (Parish Priest), Colette O’Daly, Therese O’Donoghue, Sr Bernadette Sheerin, Marion Simpson Fr. Gerard Tyrell, Fr Sebi Tulbure, Fr Joseph Tumusime and Eddie Ward.

The PPC held three meetings during the first quarter 2026. Among the items on the Council’s agenda are

  • Agreement with the Finance Committee on the Budget for Pastoral Activities.
  • Monthly Review of Parish Safeguarding. Safeguarding Information session held at which 49 attended from Booterstown Parish.
  • Progressing recruitment of a Youth Minister for the Parish
  • Representation of the Parish at Deanery and Parish Partnership meetings
  • Promoting Liturgical Programme including World Day of Prayer, Taize Service and Prayer Service for Peace.
  • Arrangements for Sacramental preparation for 1st Communion and Confirmation.
  • Meeting with Conference of St Vincent de Paul to discuss their work in the Parish. Individual cases are strictly confidential and are not disclosed to the PPC.
